About ACS MAGFA...

In 2008 ACS Martial Arts, in conjunction with Dunstable based International Atemi Jujitsu began jujitsu classes in the Stopsley area of Luton, Beds. After converting to full time coaching David Brown, chief coach, began extending his teaching portfolio to include a variety of complimentary coaching qualifications and it soon became apparent that the leisure and community centres in Luton and Bedfordshire area couldn't support the many classes we were able to provide - a full time centre was needed.

In 2014 ACS MAGFA: martial arts, games and fitness academy was created as an umbrella title for all the various services we could then offered from a single location:

  • JUJITSU
  • KICK JITSU
  • BOXERCISE
  • KIDS GAMES CLUBS
  • MINI FENCING
  • SELF DEFENCE
  • FITNESS CLASSES

In 2014/15 ACS MAGFA began renting studio space in Taylor St Luton, from where all these and other activities were supplied. In addition, it also served as a base for local Luton schools to come and experience what we had to offer as well as providing convenient storage for all our equipment needs when we occasionally had classes for the schools themselves.

In 2017 ACS MAGFA relocated to new premises in Charles St Luton where we also offered Self Defence, Mini Ninja and Ninja Tyke classes for younger children. In November 2022, we left Charles St and in December 2022 the academy as it had previously existed, ceased to be.

In January 2023 we relocated to a single rented hall at Luton Cricket Club and got back to teaching our core principles of jujitsu and self protection. We also began football coaching for the ladies of Luton Town Walking Football Club.

In May 2023 we started a ladies walking football team, associated with the existing Luton Town WFC men's team and began coached sessions

In September 2024, lead coach David Brown, retired from full time coaching and the martial arts club eventually closed in June 2024
